Students with learning differences often find it difficult to pay attention and to understand material presented at the pace of the rest of the students in a typical classroom setting. They face an additional challenge trying to feel involved in a group computer classroom. They watch from a distance, at home with minimal expectation to be called upon to answer a teacher's question or to be able to ask questions themselves before the teacher moves on. They’re more prone to become disinterested, day-dreamers, or involved with distractions. Checking email, social media or playing that favorite video game may be just a tempting click away.

Our live, interactive, one-to-one video academic coaching and scholastic tutoring focuses on the individual student, maintaining their interest as they actively participate. During their online sessions they can demonstrate their knowledge and ask questions comfortably with their tutor. Your student's understanding of the material presented can be assessed and clarified so that any homework done reinforces the correct teaching.

Solid math, reading, and writing skills are required to succeed in all subjects and especially necessary for the students to catch up. Study skills slide backward without practice. Maintaining good study routines requires having a motivational goal, an organized plan, and tutorial support.

Each student is unique and so is the one-to-one tutoring and academic coaching at Lear Educational Center. We specialize in teaching students with learning differences, helping them further develop and expand upon their individual strengths, as well as meeting IEP and remediation goals. At Lear Educational Center we teach students with learning differences such as ADD/ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorder, Visual Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Executive Function Disorder.

At Lear Educational Center we provide academic coaching and tutoring to gifted and college level students as well.
