At Lear Educational Center we are dedicated to empowering our students to maximize their potential for success in any learning environment.  We provide one-to-one, systematic, intensive scholastic tutoring and academic coaching in study skills and strategies.  

The coronavirus change of instruction from classroom to computer presented a significant and often overwhelming challenge to students.  Maintaining attention and a sense of personal involvement is difficult when watching from a distance with an increase in distractions.  Minimal expectation to be called upon to answer a question permits focus to shift more easily than in the traditional classroom setting.  For some students, being unable to ask a question before the teacher moved on resulted in confusion, frustration, lack of motivation and sinking self-confidence. 

Many students fell behind in their foundational knowledge as well as the new study material rather than advancing in their curriculum.  Also impacting student readiness for new learning this semester is the fact that students on average lose 20% of their prior learning during the long summer vacation. 

·      At Lear Educational Center we assess and reinforce prior learning, filling in any portions of a curriculum that the student might have missed or might have misunderstood.  This is especially important for the student who was promoted with a grade of C or less.  

·      Students who have strong foundational knowledge can more readily make connections with new material and move forward.  They’re more interested because they understand background concepts and can follow the teaching.  They’re better able to focus, participate and to ask questions when necessary.  

·      At Lear Educational Center we interface with schools, working with the curriculum appropriate for each student to bring him up to grade level and to advance.

·      At Lear Educational Center we specialize in teaching students with learning differences, helping them to further develop and expand upon their individual strengths, as well as to meet IEP and remediation goals.  

·       At Lear Educational Center we provide One-to-One, Individualized Academic Coaching and Scholastic Tutoring on all levels, primary through college, for most subjects and for most standardized tests. 

  Our tutoring services are available on campus, online, or at our facility.
